Stress?

Most people ask "when did you start showing signs of ALS?"
That's a darn good question. In July of 2018, I started getting those annoying eye twitches. You know, the ones you get when you're tired, stressed, hungry, or have been staring at the computer too long. In July of 2018, I was all of the above.
I was in my second semester of a doctoral program through Regent (shout out to Regent University!). At that time, I was also deep into my internship as an elementary school administrator. That's right. Assistant Principal in training. While I was feeling on top of my game, my stress level was through the roof. But I thrive on stress, so I thought it was okay.
Next thing I know, it's August and my entire body is twitching. My fiancee (now husband) finally convinced me that the twitching may be something else, so I made the appointment.
Was stress the cause of ALS? Maybe. Or was it just the luck of the draw? When the science community figures it out, I'll let you know.
